Reflections

This exhibition brings together six abstract paintings that explore perception, transformation, and place, inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo. In the film, shifting perspectives and unstable identities challenge the boundaries between reality and illusion; these themes resonate with the Port Phillip community, where place and identity are reshaped through movement, memory, and time.

The series develops a chromatic language reflecting the City’s colours of orange, blue, and green contrasted with deep red tones that connect to the Town Hall's distinctive flooring. Installed chronologically, the works engage form, texture, and material, while their capacity to be reoriented allows meaning to shift with each individual encounter.

‘Reflections’ positions Port Phillip not merely as a backdrop, but as an active participant in an ongoing dialogue between identity and place.
